Description
We are seeking a CAD BIM Engineer, established in Civil Engineering, to join our team. The role will involve the design, BIM coordination and modelling of infrastructure and non-infrastructure utility projects within our Water Framework. From concept to detailed design, you will assist our team of distinguished Engineers.
- Working alongside our team of engineers, performing internal and external activities associated with civil and drainage design, in line with client specifications and design standards.
- Using 2D & 3D CAD, fulfilling the Design Engineer’s tasks for drawing activities associated with civil and drainage design, in line with client specifications and design standards.
- Knowledge of industry wide CDE platforms such as Asite, Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM360.
- Established in the use of AutoCAD, Civils 3D and Revit to aid in the production of engineering drawings, including 3D or 2D.
- Organising and assisting with design inputs (surveys and investigations) and assisting with the preparation of drawings, reports and specifications.
- Surveying experience an advantage, using GPS tools and producing MH tables and cards.
- Have expertise in knowledge of integration with BIM models would be desirable.
- Surveying and data evaluation plus development of PCI from Client
- Be experienced in fundamental hydraulic design principles.
- Be a qualified CAD Engineer. MEICA knowledge would also be an advantage.
- Being familiar with, and compliant with, Health & Safety and CDM
- Expertise in ISO 19650 and working to CAD standards.
- Contributing and defining solutions for design challenges.
- Overseeing the administration of design assurance and quality control.
- Managing the compilation and submission of completion information to successfully close out projects in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain good relations with all stakeholders.
- Attend Engineering Expos and implement the very latest technologies in the Industry, staying up to date with modern developments.
- Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.

- Being a leader with relevant Health & Safety regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team
- Lead by example to others on site and implement best practice procedures within the team and site personnel

As a minimum the person must have:
- Qualified CAD Engineer and ideally chartered or a member of a relevant institution.
- Have suitable civil design experience of water treatment, inc. drainage, clean water, separation and waste treatment, gained through working on projects within the UK water sector.
- Have knowledge of the UK Water Industry and Sewer Sector Guidance standards for drainage design.
- Have expertise in software design methods such as AutoCAD, Info/Microdrainage, Revit and Civils3D, knowledge of integration with BIM models would be desirable.
- Have a willingness to learn, develop and improve skills.
- Have a full UK driving license.
