Peter Duffy Limited signed up to the Energy and Utility Skills “Skills Accord” pilot in early 2016 and are happy to confirm that we have successfully completed the pilot year. The Skills Accord is a commitment to investing in skills and developing our people to meet the needs of the sector.
The annual review to measure our performance against the key commitments was completed in March, which involved measuring our performance against the 5 key commitments of the Skills Accord.
We scored the maximum achievable score with excellent compliance in the relevant criteria. We did exceptionally well on commitment 1, which measures the percentage of our workforce involved in eligible training. Due to our approach to developing our people we easily achieved the 5% target, with 33% of staff at Peter Duffy Limited and DrainsAid having been through eligible training programmes.
As we performed so well against commitment 1 we were invited to present at the Skills Accord Best Practice Workshop in Eakring, Nottinghamshire in May. Gillian Dack and Jason Hine attended the workshop and delivered a presentation to the other signatories detailing our approach to staff development.
We are on target to maintain our performance in 2017. Additional information about the Skills Accord can be found on the EUS website at the following web address:
