On Saturday 18th June 20 brave souls from Peter Duffy Limited completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. The gruelling 24 mile hike takes in the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire and includes 1,585m of ascent.

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Fortunately the weather was perfect – overcast but without any rain. Leading the pack Leo Cullen proved that age is not a barrier when it comes to speed, finishing the walk in an incredible 6 hours and 37 minutes. The last walkers to complete the walk did it over an epic 14 hours.

A “pit stop crew” led by Chris O’Hora provided refreshments and moral support between each peak.

Completing this challenge is a fantastic achievement for all involved, but is also for a really good cause. So far over £5,000 has been raised for Mellon Educate, a charity which uses volunteers to build schools in Africa. Taking part in the 2016 Building Blitz, Michael Duffy and Chris O’Hora have set themselves a target of raising £10,000 for the charity.
